About Us

Green Gift Company is Jane Brennan and Sharon Murray, Edinburgh based business women and busy mums.

We met when our eldest children started nursery together. Having similar set-ups, both working and with a younger child in tow, we quickly hit it off. Both of us wanted to do something for ourselves business wise, but had yet to happen upon that ‘something’….

Green Gift Company evolved from a number of our ideas coming from Sharon’s strong interest in all things ‘eco’ and my passion for ethical business. With careers to date in investments, accountancy, social enterprise and the voluntary sector we had many of the bases covered. Thus our ‘something’ was born in January 2008, much to the relief of all concerned!

Green Gift Company is essentially an affordable range of fabulous gift items that have been made responsibly – that is with due care and consideration for the raw materials used, the manufacturing process and all those involved at every point of the journey. We have based the business on five basic criteria: fairtrade; recycled; organic; sustainable; local. All of our products have to meet at least one of these criteria, many meet several with our bath goodies meeting all five. We carry these criteria right through the business and wherever possible we source our basic business materials and services locally. We support other ‘like minded’ local, small businesses and are starting to work with local ‘good causes’.

It’s been a huge learning curve for the two of us, vertical at times it’s seemed, we’ve had loads of laughs along the way, met some amazing people and discovered some really fabulous products.

We’re here for the duration, recession and all, we invite you to stay with us!
